It always amazes me how much I learn from books like this one. I, for some reason, seem to think I'm the only one with these problems. Yet when I read stories of other people and their faith that God will be there for them I realize how much more I need to "Let go, Let God". I need to have more faith that he will always be there for me, not just when I need something but always.
I've learned God is not an "occational" God but and "Always" God. A forever God, Loveing, enduring, and so much more. That's the faith I lean more and more each time I read books like 21 Stories of Faith.
This is a wonderful book. Titles of some of the chapters are funny. The words of comfort and knowledge are inspiring. I especially that the book is a small one. I can fit it into my purse, glove box, suitcase and have it when ever I need inspiration. It would be a great book to wake up to as well or to read at night before bed. Really good book Hollie.
This book has answered my prayers is 2 very important ways. First, after just reading the first few pages, a prayer I have been making from the very beginning of my journey to God, my prayer of understanding of Love was answered. I've never really known what love is..exactly, until now. This book is amazing. So many questions have been answered for me.
Second, I have prayed that my husband would join me in finding and loving God and the night I picked up this book and was so excited by what I read he has asked if we could start reading the bible every night. HALLELUYA!! So to Jim I say Thank God to inspired you to write this book. It has quite literally been a God send. Bless you.
If you've every struggled with the questions: does God love me, what is grace and more then this is the book for you. You won't be disappointed.
This book is excellent. I enjoyed reading it and it gave me some wonderful insight in to myself and my relationship with God. It's definitely worth reading.
Outstanding!!! This one is a definite keeper. I've learned so much about forgiveness I didn't know. I, like most of humanity, believed what others said about forgiveness but never read the bible to see what Jesus said about it. Then again why would we when pastors we trusted to know the bible tell us what we want to hear.
I, again, like so many people I've met, went along with societies ideas of forgiveness. The easy way. Forgive them and you'll feel better. Yeah right...NOT. If to forgive a person is suppose to make you feel better then why don't we loose the memory of the incident? When God forgives he wipes away that sin and doesn't bang you over the head with it year after year saying "remember when you did this and I forgave you, well if you do it again I won't". We would sit back and say either "ok,ok, I got it, leave me alone" or "screw you, if your going to hold this over my head all my life what's the use to even ask for forgiveness"? So you see, one NEEDS to read their bible. Follow Gods word. He literly knows everything and he doesn't lie.
Reading Edward Mrkvicka's book taught me a lot about forgiveness. I didn't think I need to be taught anything about it but guess I was wrong.
You won't be sorry about reading this book. You will be enlightened in a way you would never have guessed.
Boy has this book been a God send. Especially now when I have so much going on my plate.
I've read the book, now I want the audio because it's so soothing, also I believe playing it will make my subconscience take notice and I will act on it. It's amazing what the brain can do. I fully believe I cause my own stress. I've learned that sitting still is the hardest thing for me to do. I always have to do something. This book has helped me realize not only is it ok to relax with God but it's nessasary for my whole being. Being with God helps my mind, body and soul.
Thanks Shelley.
Journal Version.
I always enjoy reading Benjamin Reynolds' books because I always learn something new. They are also well written and researched. His books inspire me to read more of my bible. It's funny how you can read something and find out through someone else's eyes the things you missed.
You know how you can watch a movie over and over, then you see things you don't remember the first dozen times you watched it? Well that's the way it is with the bible. Now I know why people, I thought was extreme, read the bible every year of their lives. You always see something new. It's wonderful.
Thanks Benjamin. Keep writing and I'll keep reading the bible as well as your books.
As many times as I have read the bible it never fails to amaze me just how much I've missed or misunderstood.
I've always knows what "ask and you shall be forgive, seek and you shall find" but I never understood what "knock and the door will be open to you". This book has helped me understand so many things I just took for granted or put aside because I didn't want to look them up. This is a must read for anyone who believes they know what the sayings mean. You just might be surprised.
I'm afraid I could only give it 5 stars because that's all Amazon allows but I would definitly give it 7 or even 9 stars if I could.
Thank you Benjamin L. Reynolds for helping me learn something new. That's what is amazing about reading Christian books, you always learn something new, well at least for me anyway.
I couldn't believe how this book fit into my life as if it were writen just for me. I learned a very valuable lesson about myself reading "Mission Possible". I was trying to do God's job for him instead of having faith and patients that he would bring my husband to him when it is time.
I apologized to my husband for my short sightedness and told him I know he believes in God and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, the rest is now up to God. I will pray and wait for God's will to be done, not mine.
If you are having problems in your marrage because you have found what you need in the Lord but don't think your husband has, you really need to read this book.
I know now why people call devout Christian's "Bible Thumpers" because I was one. I was constantly throwing the words of God in his face even to the point of threatening to leave because I felt he was being driven by the devil.
I needed this book to bring me off my high horse. Who am I that I should judge my husband about what he believes. It's not my place to tell him what and how he should act when he believes in God.
I love my husband and I love God, that should be enough for me to have faith and it is. So I will "Let Go, Let God". I will look to the beam in my own eye before I try to remove the speck in anyone elses eye. And the devil better watch out because I intend to fight for what I love.
I recieved the Journal version of this book for my birthday and love it. It inspires me,refreshes me and enlightens me. I praise the Lord for giving Sarah Young the insite to write this book. I will be purchasing more of her books.
Another great book from Benjamin Reynolds. I've read most of these prayers in the bible, but again I saw some I don't remember reading. I also agree with his way of choosing the prayers to put in his book.
A prayer a friend of mine likes is the prayer of Jabez. It's not in this book, but it's amazing how a small prayer of a basically unknown's prayer becomes so important to so many people.
I really think you will enjoy reading this book. Not only does it make you think but it gives you some insight into why these people prayed as they did and why God chose to answer them.
